Inspiring the Next Generation of Automotive Innovators: World of Outlaws Visits Milton Hershey School

The World of Outlaws put aside their PA Posse rivalry to contribute to the dedicated central Pennsylvania racing community by connecting with the future leaders in the automotive field.

Throughout a hectic week on the dusty circuit that encompasses races at both Lincoln At Williams Grove Speedway, several sprint car series drivers convened with students from Milton Hershey School’s Auto Shop Program on Thursday.

This provided an opportunity for the students to gain further knowledge about racing as well as employment within the automotive sector.

“We had the chance to ask numerous questions and listen to their stories,” stated Brielle Pimble, an 11th-grade Milton Hershey School student. “This allowed us to gain insights into topics that aren’t commonly discussed in our daily lives.”

The question-and-answer session involving the drivers and the students kindled a growing enthusiasm.

Pimble mentioned that hearing about their enjoyment and enthusiasm makes him realize he'll experience similar feelings when he joins them. He’s already quite intrigued and grows even more eager to attend classes and work on the cars daily.

For the World of Outlaws drivers, this presents an occasion to serve as inspiration, something they would never decline.

"Seeing these kids so enthusiastic about talking and coming to class is really impressive," stated Sheldon Haudenschild, who drives car number 17 for Stenhouse Jr. Marshall Racing in the World of Outlaws series.

People are extremely engaged and highly interested in this field; they really enjoy it," stated Giovanni Scelzi, the #18 World of Outcasts driver for KCP Racing. "Our presence is meant to draw them in and ignite their passion for racing just as much as we have.

This visit was part of the third annual Hershey Spring Car Experience, which originates from a collaboration between the World of Outlaws and Milton Hershey School. Additionally, an event took place at Hersheypark Stadium where local residents could get into vehicles, converse with drivers, and gain insights into the world of racing.
