APEC Automotive Dialogue Launches in South Korea: Shaping the Future of Mobility

The automotive discussion among member countries of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) commenced on Friday in South Korea to explore upcoming developments in the car manufacturing sector, as stated by Seoul's industry ministry.

The 41st APEC Automotive Dialogue commenced for a two-day event on the southern resort island of Jeju, attended by representatives from 14 nations such as the United States, Japan, China, and Chile, reported the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy.

As the host nation, South Korea plans to initiate conversations about crucial topics related to the shift towards advanced mobility solutions, including EV infrastructure, battery reuse, and hydrogen-powered transportation.

Additional topics for discussion at this year’s automotive talks encompass autonomous vehicle technology and AI advancements.

"The upcoming APEC Automotive Dialogue this year presents a crucial moment to assess and foster collaboration mechanisms amongst member nations within the swiftly changing global automotive sector, especially concerning the shift towards advanced mobility solutions and the reshaping of supply chains," according to the ministry statement.
