SAGINAW CO., Mich. (WNEM) — Nexteer mentioned that they have terminated approximately 80 employees across their Global Technical Center locations in Buena Vista and Auburn Hills.
A representative from the company didn't verify the number of individuals employed at their Michigan locations. However, they mentioned that as of December 2024, Nexteer reported having 6,139 staff members across North America.
Herve Boyer, who serves as the senior vice president at Nexteer, holds the position of global chief operating officer and also leads the company’s North America Division; he offered this statement:
Recently, Nexteer has had to make the difficult choice to decrease our workforce in the U.S. This adjustment aims to match our operations with present needs and anticipated requirements up until 2025 and further ahead. We are collaborating closely with those impacted colleagues to offer assistance programs along with severance benefits designed to ease their move forward during these changes. Despite navigating an ever-changing worldwide market landscape, our group stays dedicated to ensuring a resilient tomorrow by enhancing our competitive edge for the enduring welfare of both our personnel, clients, and various parties involved.
