Genesis was initially created as the premium arm of the Hyundai Group, but it has since expanded into the performance segment. Now, the marque is also venturing into racing by competing at Le Mans. Hypercar The class got their first significant competitor in the performance car segment with the GV60 Magma. This vehicle was seen tearing up the track during hot laps at the Nürburgring.
As the first offering from its Magma performance line, this new model aims to serve as a high-end rival to the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N And the Kia EV6 GT has been in development for quite a while now; it will be derived from the updated GV60 model.

The GV60 Magma distinguishes itself from the regular model. GV60 Featuring a bolder front grille accompanied by aerodynamic canards on either side along with an enlarged splitter, this prototype follows suit from others we've seen recently with its muscular matte-black rims and vivid crimson brake calipers. Looking ahead, the Magma incorporates cameras rather than conventional side mirrors—a design element that has been integrated into the present-day GV60 series as well.
In another area, we observe modifications to the fenders, featuring aerodynamic vents positioned behind both the front and rear wheels. Porsche 911 GT3 RS also has similar aero fins behind the front and rear wheels, although they are much larger. Genesis also looks to have taken inspiration from Weissach’s finest by adding aerodynamic strakes to the roof.

Similar to the Ioniq 5 N and EV6 GT, the GV60 Magma is likely to utilize the same 84 kWh battery pack. The Hyundai reaches a peak of 641 hp thanks to its twin electric motors, whereas the updated EV6 GT surpasses this with 645 hp. Our sources indicate that the Genesis might provide an even greater output, possibly boosting the horsepower close to the 700-mark.
Similar to its brother models, the GV60 Magma is anticipated to feature the Virtual Gear Shift functionality along with an engine noise that emulates a conventional internal combustion engine.
