In 1921, Rolls-Royce established a new manufacturing facility in Springfield, Massachusetts, within the U.S., aimed at addressing a significant three-year production backlog. At this location in Springfield, an additional 1,703 'Springfield Ghosts' and 1,241 Phantoms were manufactured over time.

The facility was managed by the American branch of Rolls-Royce, Incorporated, and functioned over a span of ten years. The initial vehicle, a Silver Ghost with a recorded base price of US$11,750 (equivalent to $207,138 in 2025), was finished on January 17, 1921. Upon closing down in 1931, the plant had manufactured an aggregate of 2,944 automobiles.

These pieces were situated at the previous location of the American Wire Wheel factory on Hendee Street, whereas the administrative offices were based at 54 Waltham Avenue in Springfield. The bodies intended for assembly in America were provided by Brewster & Co., which operated out of Long Island City, New York. However, due to the significant impact of the economic downturn in 1929, sales of these high-end vehicles suffered greatly, leading to the dissolution of Rolls-Royce of America, Inc. in 1931.
