The Department of Justice reported that a previous member of the Army National Guard was taken into custody for supposedly planning a mass shooting at a U.S. military installation in Warren, Michigan, acting on behalf of ISIS.
The Department of Justice states that Ammar Abdulmajid-Mohamed Said tried to plan an assault on the U.S. Army’s Tank-Automotive & Armaments Command, not realizing he was recruiting two undercover law enforcement agents for the task.
Government authorities claim that Said supplied the law enforcement personnel with arms and conducted tactical training for the scheduled assault on May 13th.

On Tuesday, Said was apprehended following his arrival in the region where he launched a drone aimed at surveying the facility, according to the DOJ.
"Due to the relentless work of law enforcement, we prevented the attack before any lives were lost," stated Sue J. Bai, who leads the Justice Department’s National Security Division.
Said is accused of trying to supply material assistance to a foreign terrorist group and disseminating information about explosive devices. Should he be found guilty, he could face up to two decades in prison for each charge.
