A judge from Kendall County approved a request last Thursday to change the bond terms. Richard Hovey Senior and Richard Hovey Junior , the pair of father and son who created the now-defunct Hovey Motorcars ,enabling them to interact with each other when they are released on bail.
Bond modification hearing held
On Thursday, May 8, both individuals appeared before a Kendall County district court to seek modifications in their bail terms, allowing interaction between the father and his son. The presiding judge approved this petition.
Bail was lowered and release was approved.
As stated by the Kendall County district clerk, the court likewise agreed to decrease their bonds on April 24. On the very same day, both men were released from the Kendall County Detention Center late Wednesday night.
Under the conditions of their release, each man has to visit Kendall County pre-trial services at least monthly, undergo drug tests, and stay within their designated homes from midnight until 5 a.m., unless they have to go to work. Nonetheless, earlier statements from prosecutors indicated that they particularly want to reach out to people in the Boerne region who might have experienced financial losses or vehicle thefts involving the Hovey family. Law enforcement officials mentioned that they continue to develop their case and anticipate an increase in the count of identified victims.
